LIFEJACKET WARRANTY

Overview

Seago Yachting Ltd warrants that its leisure products are free from defects in materials and workmanship during the applicable warranty period.

Should a manufacturing defect arise during the warranty period, Seago will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the affected product. Repair or replacement of the product represents the full extent of Seago's warranty obligation.

Warranty Period

Lifejackets

  • Standard Lifejackets: 5 Years from the date of purchase
  • Rapid Lifejackets: 7 Years from the date of purchase

Commercial & Professional Use

The warranty period is reduced to 1 Year from the date of purchase for products used:

  • In professional racing
  • In semi-professional racing
  • For commercial operations
  • For military applications
  • Outside leisure sailing activities

What Is Covered?

This warranty covers defects arising from:

  • Faulty materials
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Defects in workmanship

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, Seago will repair or replace the product at its sole discretion.

What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not cover normal wear or deterioration resulting from use, age, or environmental exposure, including:

  • Wear and tear
  • Corrosion
  • UV degradation
  • Fading or discolouration
  • Stretching of fabrics
  • Deterioration of materials over time
  • Damage caused by salt, sand, moisture, or chemicals

The warranty will also not apply where the product:

  • Has been used for a purpose for which it was not designed
  • Has been installed, stored, or used contrary to Seago's instructions
  • Has not been properly maintained
  • Has been used beyond its stated performance limits
  • Has been damaged through accident, misuse, or negligence
  • Has been altered or modified
  • Has been serviced by an unauthorised person or service provider

Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim you must:

  1. Provide valid proof of purchase.
  2. Notify Seago within 30 days of discovering the alleged defect.
  3. Return the product for inspection if requested by Seago.

Seago reserves the right to determine whether a product will be repaired or replaced.

Servicing & Maintenance Requirements

Where periodic inspection or servicing is required, failure to carry out maintenance in accordance with Seago's recommendations may invalidate the warranty.

Any repaired or replacement product will only be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Shipping & Labour Costs

The warranty does not cover:

  • Shipping costs
  • Removal costs
  • Installation costs
  • Labour charges associated with warranty claims

Product Suitability

Determining whether a product is suitable for its intended use remains the responsibility of the purchaser. Seago does not provide any additional warranty relating to fitness for a particular purpose except where required by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seago shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of income or revenue
  • Loss of profits
  • Loss of contracts or business opportunities
  • Loss of anticipated savings
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, Seago's maximum liability shall be limited to the greater of:

  • The purchase price of the affected product; or
  • £1,000,000

Statutory Rights

Nothing within this warranty affects your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

This warranty provides specific legal rights which may vary between countries and jurisdictions.

Additional Information

If any part of this warranty is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Seago reserves the right to amend product designs and specifications without prior notice.

BOAT & TENDER WARRANTY

Warranty Overview

Seago Yachting Ltd warrants that its inflatable boats and tenders are free from defects in materials and workmanship during the applicable warranty period.

Should a manufacturing defect arise during the warranty period, Seago will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the affected product. Repair or replacement of the product represents the full extent of Seago's warranty obligation.

Important: To qualify for warranty coverage, your boat must be registered within 28 days of purchase using the online registration system at www.seagoyachting.co.uk. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

PVC Fabric Boats

PVC fabric boats are covered by:

  • 3-Year Warranty on fabric and seams for selected models
  • 2-Year Warranty on fabric and seams for selected models
  • 1-Year Warranty on auxiliary fittings and components

The warranty covers the fabric maintaining its intended purpose under normal leisure boating conditions.

CSM (Hypalon-Style) Fabric Boats

CSM fabric boats are covered by:

  • 5-Year Warranty on fabric and seams
  • 1-Year Warranty on auxiliary fittings and components

All other warranty terms, conditions and exclusions apply.

What Is Covered?

This warranty covers defects arising from:

  • Faulty materials
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Defects in workmanship
  • Failure of the boat fabric or seams during normal leisure use within the applicable warranty period

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted, Seago will repair or replace the product at its sole discretion.

Auxiliary Components Covered

Auxiliary components are covered by a 1-Year Warranty from the date of purchase and include:

  • Oar locks
  • Oars
  • Lifting handles
  • Foot pumps
  • Transoms
  • Transom holders
  • D-rings
  • Seats
  • Floorboards

Commercial Use

This warranty applies to leisure use only.

The warranty does not cover boats used:

  • For commercial activities
  • For hire or charter operations
  • For professional or racing applications
  • In any revenue-generating service

What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not cover normal wear, deterioration, or damage resulting from:

  • Neglect or lack of maintenance
  • Accidents or impact damage
  • Abnormal operation
  • Racing or competition use
  • Commercial service
  • Use of non-approved accessories or parts
  • Alteration, modification, or removal of original components

The warranty also does not cover normal deterioration of fabric, wood finishes, or cosmetic wear resulting from age, UV exposure, storage conditions, or regular use.

Costs Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Haul-out charges
  • Launching fees
  • Storage charges
  • Telephone costs
  • Rental charges
  • Loss of use
  • Inconvenience
  • Loss of time
  • Loss of income
  • Any incidental or consequential damages

Shipping and transportation costs associated with warranty claims remain the responsibility of the purchaser.

Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim you must:

  1. Register your boat within 28 days of purchase.
  2. Retain valid proof of purchase.
  3. Contact the dealer from whom the boat was purchased.
  4. Make the product available for inspection when requested.

The selling dealer will arrange inspection and repair where the claim falls within the terms of this warranty.

Products returned for inspection or repair must be shipped with transportation charges prepaid by the purchaser.

Registration Requirements

The owner's warranty registration is the only valid registration record and must be held by Seago before warranty service can be provided.

Failure to register your boat within 28 days of purchase will invalidate any extended warranty coverage.

There are no exceptions to this requirement.

Limitation of Warranty

Seago's obligation under this warranty is limited solely to the repair or replacement of defective parts caused by defects in materials or workmanship.

Seago reserves the right to improve or modify product designs and specifications without any obligation to update or modify products previously manufactured.

All implied warranties are limited to the duration of the applicable warranty period.

Statutory Rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have additional rights that vary between countries and jurisdictions.

Nothing in this warranty affects your statutory consumer rights under applicable law.
